WHO WE ARE

Iraq NOG is a non-profit group of volunteering professionals from the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector in Iraq who work together to build a solid ground for collaborations between experts, vendors, and service providers in this vital field. 

This assembly is member-based and open to any interested personnel from government bodies, academia, NGOs, and the private sector for exchanging knowledge, discussing challenges, and sharing ideas.

OUR MISSION

The mission of IraqNOG is to establish a platform for local specialists to share ideas and experiences and support technical collaborations for improving the ICT services provided to the Iraqi community in terms of quality, professionalism, and security.

Objectives

- To create an open forum for discussing the challenges faced by the various establishments in the ICT community and to find a common ground to address these challenges.

- To develop the abilities and skills of the local technical staff through training, capacity building, and providing educational opportunities.

- To promote innovation by encouraging new ideas and strengthening the collaboration among the members of the group.

- To prepare technical reports and white papers that help identify the main challenges that hinder the development of the ICT infrastructure and to recommend the best approaches for addressing these challenges to help the decision-makers to achieve the target of the successful ICT.

- To enhance the internet and communications services provided to the local customers by resolving the administrational and technical issues and upgrading the existing infrastructures.

- To increase the local awareness against cyber-crimes and work with local and international agencies to enhance the cyber security practices in Iraq.
